Dr. Tammy Bottner is a physician, writer, and mom. She is also the child and grandchild of Holocaust survivors. Her father was one of the youngest hidden children during WW2, spending two and a half years in a Belgian convent. Her grandparents, originally from Germany and Poland, survived by hiding in plain sight.
Dr. Bottner is fascinated by the science of epigenetics, the idea that traumatic life events change one’s genes, and that these altered genes may be passed along to subsequent generations.
She is the co-founder of Riverside Pediatrics in Newburyport, MA where she practices pediatric, adolescent, and integrative medicine.
She and her husband have two young adult children.In her spare time Dr. Bottner enjoys reading, traveling, dance, yoga, photography and the outdoors.
